New Delhi: The nationwide lockdown, implemented to prevent the spread of the Corana virus, has been extended until 3 May, after which migrant labourers stranded in cities have been harassing people to visit their villages. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by tweeting that they should help the workers and arrangements should be made for them.
Priyanka Gandhi tweeted and asked, ‘After all why does every disaster strike the poor and laborers? Why are decisions not taken in view of their situation? Why are they left trusting God? Why was the booking of railway tickets continued during the lockdown? Why were special trains not arranged? Their money is running out, the stock ration is running out, they are feeling insecure – they want to go home. It should have been arranged. Their help can still be arranged with the right planning. Workers are the backbone of this country. Narendra Modi ji help them for God.
Earlier in the day, Priyanka Gandhi had said, ‘I wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and requested to increase the testing.
