New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that India is facing three types of threats at this time. Referring to social inequality, economic slowdown and global health problem, he said that I am very concerned that these risks can not only break the soul of India, but also our global status as an economic and democratic power in the world.

Manmohan Singh in an article published in the newspaper ‘The Hindu’ mentioned the current situation in the country. He told that he has written this with a heavy heart.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wrote, ‘There has been heavy violence in Delhi in the last few weeks. We lost about 50 Indian comrades without any reason, hundreds of people have also been injured. The flames of communal tension were spread by some political class as well as uncontrolled section of our society.

It targeted university campuses, public spaces and private homes. Law and order organizations have left their religion to protect the citizens. He further wrote, ‘Due to no system of restraint on such cases, the fire of social tension is spreading rapidly across the country and presents the danger of tearing the soul of our country to pieces. Only those who have instigated it can extinguish it. ‘

The former Prime Minister wrote, ‘To justify the current violence in the country, it is meaningless to mention such incidents in history. Every incident of communal violence is a blot on Mahatma Gandhi’s India. Within a few years, India is now facing an economic crisis after liberal democratic methods have become a model of economic development globally. He wrote, ‘At a time when our economy is collapsing, the impact of such social unrest will only increase the economic recession. It is now well accepted that the crisis of India’s economy is currently due to lack of new investment from the private sector. Investors, industrialists and businessmen are not ready to start new projects. ‘

Manmohan Singh wrote, ‘Social disruption and communal tension only reduce their fear and risk. Social harmony, the basis of economic development, is now in crisis. The reduction in investment will have a direct impact on jobs and income. Social harmony is the basis of economic development, and at the same time it is in danger. No matter how much tax rates are changed, no matter how much facilities are provided to the corporate class, Indian and foreign companies will not invest as long as there is a risk of violence.
