New Delhi: The Congress has officially launched the website and tagline for the pan-India ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ which is set to begin September 7 from Kanyakumari, party sources said on Tuesday. Party’s Rajya Sabha members, Digvijaya Singh and Jairam Ramesh, launched website. At a press conference, they said that the aim of the Yatra is to bring India together so that the nation might get back to its feet. Both Ramesh and Singh jointly unveiled the scheme of the Yatra which will cover 3,500 kilometres and 12 states. It will end in Jammu and Kashmir.
At various locations, people from all walks of life will join the Yatra and will march together. The party said that the yatra is open to anyone. Both the leaders highlighted the failures of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government, saying that the unemployment and inflation are hurting the common man and the Central government is busy toppling opposition-led governments in various states.

Meanwhile, a social worker Yogendra Yadav said that he agreed to engage with the Congress’ Yatra which is the need of the hour. The form may vary agreed to engage with the Yatra, Yadav said. A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa who launched Veer Savarkar Yatra on Tuesday urged the Congress not to take out the Bharat Jodo Yatra because it may spark violence.
