Lucknow: Son of jailed don Ateeq Ahmad, Umar Ahmad, surrendered before a court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, official sources said. He was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head because several cases of crime including extortion were registered against in different police stations in the state. The younger son of Ateeq, Ali also surrendered in a court at Prayagraj in July. He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, official sources further said.

The ruling dispensation led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a crackdown on gangster Ateeq Ahamad who is lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. The police also seized his properties worth crores of rupees.
