BJP sues Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about Modi

PoliticsBJP sues Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about Modi

Date:

After Rahul Gandhi made a “panauti” joke against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP went to the Election Commission to complain. They are directing their demands on the party’s congressional leader. To have Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge penalized for what they perceived as his baseless assertion that Modi’s caste was on the OBC list in Gujarat during his tenure as chief minister, party officials Om Pathak, general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, and others went to the poll watchdog.

According to Pathak, the Ghanchi caste, which has a long history of involvement in oil pressing, was added to the OBC list in 1999, and Modi was appointed chief minister in 2001. “We request the Election Commission to intervene urgently by taking appropriate legal action against Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for their continued fraudulent, baseless, and abusive practice and to pass a prohibitory order against them,” a letter written by the BJP delegation to the chief executive.

While running for office in Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi insulted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “Panauti.”

As the political climate deteriorates, “abuse, usage of objectionable and offensive language to defame respectable individuals and spreading false news will become inevitable,” the statement added.

Rahul Gandhi pointed the finger at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence at the World Cup final as the reason for India’s defeat. The prime minister’s presence, Rahul Gandhi, seemed to suggest in his comment, “PM means Panauti Modi” regarding Sunday’s final match in Ahmedabad, the reason for the team’s tragedy. Modi sometimes goes to cricket matches and says “Hindu-Muslim” on TV. Ignoring the reality that we were defeated in the contest is irrelevant. “Panauti,” Rahul said.

In a swift and angry reaction, BJP leaders branded Rahul’s comment as “shameful and disgraceful” after the Congress leader’s quip. Some members of the BJP responded by calling Rahul Gandhi “mandbudhi” and “shameless.”

According to Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Rahul’s comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi being “panauti” and “anti-national” were strongly criticized by the Indian people. The visit of Prime Minister Modi will fill us with immense pride. The Congress members, he said, are so afraid and hostile of Prime Minister Modi that they rejoice in India’s losses. He continued by stating, “I believe that this act (of Rahul Gandhi) is anti-national,” and claiming that this exemplifies “mindlessness” to an unprecedented degree. He said further that the nation’s citizens will never forgive him.

The AICC chairman Mallikarjun Kharge’s suggestion that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had elevated the Ghanchi-Teli caste to the OBC category sent shockwaves across the governing Congress party. Community activist and Gujarat MLA Purnesh Modi criticized the statement, calling it unsubstantiated and misleading and referencing a 1994 government mandate. Congress has promised to do a caste census in many states, which aligns with Kharge’s accusation. The Modi community became an OBC in 1994. This was done again in 2002 when Prime Minister Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat. In 2014, this matter was finally settled.
