The first female supreme court judge and governor of Tamil Nadu, Justice Fathima Beevi, died at 96 years of age. She died on Thursday in a private hospital, according to the news. She leaves the world at the age of 96 years old. Veena George, the state health minister, condoled the death and said that the death of Justice Fathima Beevi was very painful. The minister also said Justice Beevi made a mark as the first female supreme court judge and Tamil Nadu governor. 

About Justice beevi 

Justice Beevi was appointed as the supreme court judge and governor of Tamil Nadu. The health minister of Kerala, Veena George, condoned her death and said that it was so painful. She was a brave woman who gained huge records of her name. She was an inspirational personality who showed her willpower and a sense of purpose to overcome adversity; George gave a statement. 

In her dedicated career, Justice Beevi worked as a role model and icon all over the country, and she left her mark in the political area because she also served as governor of Tamil Nadu. 

A journey of Fathima beevi 

Justice Fathima Beevi was born on 30 April 1927 in Kerala. Her father is one who supports her to pursue her career in law. She completed her schooling at catholicate high school in Pathanamthitta. 

 According to the law reports, Justice Fathima Beevi graduated from the law department of Government Law College and was admitted as an advocate on 14 November 1950. She topped the bar council exam and became the first woman to win the gold medal.

She started her career in 1950 in the lower judiciary of Kerala and went through the ranks. At that time, she worked as Munsiff in Kerala subordinate judicial services, Chief judicial magistrate, session and district judge, subordinate judge, and judicial member of an income tax appellate tribunal. In 1983, Justice Beevi became a high court judge, and in 1989, she became a supreme court judge. She was the first Muslim woman to become a Supreme Court judge. 

What Justice beevi do after retirement 

After the retirement of Justice Beevi, she worked as a member of the National Human Rights Commission and was appointed governor of Tamil Nadu. Justice Beevi also worked as chancellor of Tamil Nadu University at the time as Tamil Nadu governor. Because of her hard work and dedication, she was awarded the US India Business Council Lifetime Achievement Award and Bharat Jyoti Award. 

But later, she resigned from her post of Tamil Nadu governor after rejecting the mercy petitions filed by 4 condemned prisoners in the assassination case of Rajiv Gandhi.

On Thursday, the justice fathima beevi dies at 96. She was the first woman Supreme Court judge who worked hard in her life. She passed away today from the world at the age of 96 years old. Moreover, her cause of death is not known. But the health minister of Kerala said in the news that her death was very painful for us.
