PoliticsAzad set to launch political outfit soon

Date:

New Delhi: A close confidant of former senior Congress leader and chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that Azad will form a new political outfit in the state within a fortnight. Azad told new agencies on Friday that he would form a new party and keep restoration of the status quo of J&K on its manifesto. He, however, said that he was not in a hurry to launch the new party.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that for Azad, it was wrong to blame the former president of the Congress for the party’s poll debacle in 2014. Pilot dubbed Azad’s remark against Rahul Gandhi in his resignation letter as “targeted personal vilification” as it was wrong to hold an individual responsible for poll defeat. Pilot also said that Azad’s letter was ill-timed and “very unfortunate.” It came at a time when the Congress was preparing to take on the “misgovernance” of the BJP government and the former chief minister had not fulfilled his responsibility.
