New Delhi: The backlash against removal of undergarments of girl students before entering the examination hall for medical entrance test has forced the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) on September 4. The incident took place in Kollam district in Kerala in July, official sources said on Saturday. At the examination centre, the female candidates were asked to remove their innerwear before entering the hall.

The NEET will also be reconducted on September 4 in Kollam, Kerala. Apart from that, re-examination will be held at two centres in Rajasthan, two in Madhya Pradesh and at one centre in Uttar Pradesh. Seven people, five women, were taken into custody for forcing the girls to remove their undergarments on July 17. The incident kicked up a row across the state. It was a traumatic experience for the girl students.
