New Delhi: The Congress said on Sunday that Aaam Aadmi Party (AAP) should stop hiding behind the education policy debate and that Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Mahish Sisodia should resign because of the raids conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with irregularities in the excise policy.
The Congress also alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was hand in glove with the AAP in this regard. A blacklisted company in Madhya Pradesh, allotted liquor vends in Delhi, was a “major donor” to the BJP. The party has admitted to “such donations” in its disclosures to the Election Commission. Nevertheless, the CBI did not mention the name of the company in its FIR, the Congress said.

President of Delhi Congress Committee (DCC) Anil Choudhary demanded resignation of both Sisodia and his cabinet colleague Satyendra Jain whom sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate arrested. At a press conference, party spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said that the APP should stop hiding behind the education policy debate, because the fundamental issue was liquor policy and how the state government has turned the state into a liquor capital of the country.
