In order to stimulate the logistics industry, he will also inaugurate the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) from New Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction.

At 2:15 PM today, the second iteration of the sophisticated semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train will begin service. The second Vande Bharat train will have several features and be saffron in color, according to the Northern Railway. According to a statement, the train boasts first-rate amenities for passengers, including touch-free bio-vacuum toilets, individual touch-based reading lights, concealed roller blinds, plush interiors, GPS-based passenger information systems, diffused LED lighting, and under-seat charging stations.

The train will then travel through Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Itawa, Tundla, and Aligarh before arriving in New Delhi at the appointment times after being flagged off. On December 20, 2023, the Vande Bharat Express is expected to open for regular business. Train schedule: Praygraj at 07:34 AM, Kanpur Central at 09:30 AM, and New Delhi at 2:05 PM. The train departs Varanasi at 6:00 AM.

The train is scheduled to leave New Delhi at 3 p.m., arrive at Kanpur Central at 7 p.m., Prayagraj at 9 p.m., and reach Varanasi at 11 p.m. on the return journey.

402 kilometers are designated for freight in the east.

Today, PM Modi will also inaugurate the eastern DFC’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and New Bhaupur Junction. This stretch of the corridor, which cost RS 10,903 crores to construct, runs along the Delhi-Howrah rail line and passes through the Uttar Pradesh districts of Chandauli, Mirzapur, Pryagraj, Kaushambi, Fathepur, Kanpur Nagar, and Kanpur Dehat.

Power plants in north India are connected to the vital coal fields of West Bengal and Jharkhand through the corridor. These coal fields include Eastern Coalfields Limited, Central Coalfields Limited, and Bharat Coking Coal Limited.

Version for villages of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

In addition to introducing development initiatives, PM Modi will take part today at 1 p.m. in the village version of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. He will open the Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi at 11:30 a.m.
