News Desk – The director of a well-known ashram in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj, Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati alias Partha Sarathy, has been accused of sexually harassing several women students, police said.
What Happened?
At least 17 female students out of 32 who gave statements have accused him of:
Using abusive language
Sending lewd messages
Forcing physical contact
Some women staff members allegedly pressured students to obey him.
The accused was introduced to the students by wardens, according to the victims.
Police Action
A case has been registered for sexual harassment and other charges.
CCTV footage has been checked and raids carried out, but the accused is still missing.
He was last traced near Agra, and police teams are searching for him.
A Volvo car with a fake diplomatic number plate (39 UN 1) was seized from the ashram’s basement.
Ashram’s Response
After the allegations, the administration removed and expelled Swami Chaitanyananda.
The Delhi unit is linked to the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha, Sringeri in South India.
The Peetha issued a statement calling his actions “illegal, inappropriate, and against its values,” and cut all ties with him.
