Congress MLA from Tamil Nadu Joins BJP Amid Internal Differences: A Shift

Tamil Nadu Congress MLA S Vijayadharani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. A prominent face in the Tamil Nadu Congress, Vijayadharani was elected as MLA from the Vilvancode constituency in Kanyakumari district in 2021, in which the BJP has a significant presence. 

A 3-time MLA left the Congress

Vijayadharani was elected Congress MLA for 3 time from Vilavankode constituency in Kanyakumari district. For the past few days, there have been reports that he was disappointed with the Congress management for now not giving significance to Vijayadharani in the party and that he changed into going to signing up for the BJP. But Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President Selvaperundagai claimed that Vijayadharani will no longer fall into BJP’s trap.

But Vijayadharani, who gave a surprise to the Congress, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister of State L. Murugan after the BJP meeting held in Delhi this afternoon.

Reason behind the dissatisfaction

Vasantakumar suffered from corona contamination. Due to this, by way of election, it goes on for that constituency. At that point, Vijayadharani had requested the Congress to permit him to contest in that constituency. However, the party management did not permit Vijayadharani and gave a hazard to past due Vasanth Kumar’s son Vijay Vasanth. He received and has become an MP.

Since then Vijayadharani is stated to have been sad with the Congress leadership. However, Vijayadharani was once more given a price ticket to contest the 2021 assembly election from the Vilavankod constituency. He received and was now a Congress MLA in the Assembly.

Differences between BJP and Congress 

But these days Selvaperunthakai was appointed as Tamil Nadu Congress President and Rajesh Kumar as Assembly Congress President. Also, it’s miles said that the Congress management has determined to give the Kanyakumari seat to Vijay Vasant once more in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is for this reason that Vijayadharani joined the BJP.

Over the last few days, speculations have been made about her switching camps, reportedly due to party differences. She was allegedly dissatisfied with senior leader Selvaperunthagai, who was the CLP chief till these days. He became accelerated as Tamil Nadu Congress president a few days ago.

Meanwhile, after joining the BJP, Vijayadharani said that this became the first time she shifted party and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s management is crucial. 

“I have been in Congress due to the fact the start of my career. I actually have shifted the party for the first time. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India is placed pretty high on the worldwide level…BJP needs to be extra bolstered,” the previous Congress MLA stated. “Leadership of Modiji is crucial to this country,” she added.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai also welcomed Vijayadharani to the party and stated that her go-to will similarly improve Tamil Nadu BJP.
