Lucknow: After casting her vote in legislative council election, union cabinet minister, Smriti Irani, took a jibe at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra saying, she created a history when three candidates lost their deposits in Amethi Loksabha Constituency, in recent assembly polls. Amethi and rae barely known as stronghold of the Congress. In 2019 loksabha election, Smriti defeated the then congress president Rahul Gandhi, from Amethi Loksabha seat.
When Smriti took jibe at Priyanka, she didn’t quoted her name. Smriti added to her statement saying, In the 2019 elections, Congress got about four lakh votes, but in 2022 it could managed just only one lakh votes. Smriti’s comment is hammering over congress because Congress is the party which has ruled the sate more than any other party and is out of the power since 32 years.

This time Priyanka Gandhi was leading Congress from the front but even she wasn’t able to make it well for the party and it limmited to just only two seats. Its vote share declined to 2.35% from 6.25% in 2017.
From BJP candidate to voter for BJP candidate
Smriti Irani said that in 8 years she has covered the journey from BJP candidate to a voter for BJP candidate. She said, 8 years ago she came to Amethi as BJP candidate on ashtmi. This time, when she vists, it’s ashtmi but she is voting for BJP candidate as an MP.
