In preparation for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, 200 kg of laddus will be sent by the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan here to Ayodhya as a ‘yagya’ offering, officials announced on Monday. Secretary of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, Kapil Sharma, announced that from January 16 to 22, a week-long ‘yagya’ will take place in Ayodhya. He stated that the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan will send laddus for this on Makar Sankranti. ‘Misri’, saffron, dry fruits, and seasonal ingredients will be used to make these laddus. He went on, “They will be transported to Ayodhya in a car decorated like a chariot.”
According to Sharma, six representatives of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Trust have been invited to the Ram temple’s consecration ceremony. He said that the twin idols of Shri Krishna and Radha Rani in Bhagwat Bhawan here would be dressed as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita on the occasion of the consecration ceremony.
According to him, this has only been done so far by Ram Navami. He stated that Bhagwat Bhawan will be lit up and transformed to resemble the Ram temple. Gopeshwar Chaturvedi, a member of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, stated that “kheer,” “puri,” and halwa will be given to devotees in the Krishna Janamsthan temple starting at 9am.Â
About Ram Lalla Idol
Weeks before the massive Ayodhya consecration on January 22, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee chose the idol of Ram Lalla. The idol that is selected will show Lord Ram as a child, with bows and arrows as decorations.
The change was made following a meeting that other participants and Temple Trust Secretary Champat Rai presided over. Three idols that had already been crafted were examined during the meeting. The idol that will be consecrated has pleased trustee Anil Mishra, even though the formal announcement isn’t expected until the first week of January.
Lord Ram and the Northeast
Those who had always had a connection to Lord Ram stood up to make a donation. However, what about regions of the nation where the more revered deity is Krishna rather than Ram? Tinsukia district in Assam is about 2,300 km away from Delhi. According to Harish Saikia, the RSS zila saha-karyavah (assistant general secretary) of the Tinsukia district, he was asked in 2021 about the importance of Lord Ram and the reason why people in Assam were required to make contributions for a temple that was being built in Uttar Pradesh. He claims to have clarified that the Ram of Ayodhya is the one who is mentioned alongside Krishna in Assamese prayers and Bihu songs. According to Harish Saikia, “We brought in that realization and connected people to the drive.”
