Shajapur (MP): Two more men were arrested for raising pro-Pakistani slogans during a Muharram in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur on Tuesday, the police said. The police further said that a case had been registered in Chhatarpur for an objectionable social media post. According to home minister Narottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh police took action in two cases related to raising slogans or making posts in favour of Pakistan in Chhatarpur and Shajapur districts.
The police arrested two persons in Shajapur district on Monday for raising slogans in favour of Pakistan in a Muharram procession on August 10, said Premlata Khatri, in charge of Shajapur police station.
Only chanting of Bharat Mata ki Jai is allowed in MP, he said. According to superintendent of police in Chhatarpur Sachin Sharma, a case has been registered against some people for raising slogans in favour of Pakistan. The case has been registered after a few members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal filed a complaint about objectionable post coupled with provocative slogans on social media.
According to reports, the content was allegedly posted from the user ID of a 17-year-old boy. An office-holder of VHP Anupam Gupta said that a memorandum had been submitted after Pakistan Zindabad slogans were posted on Instagram and abusive words were used against India.
