The city police are conducting an investigation to rule out every possibility, even though they believe the emails are a fraud. Authorities, students, parents, and staff are in a panic after up to fifteen schools in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, received bomb threat emails on Friday morning. According to a news agency, the city police believe the emails are fraudulent, but they are thoroughly investigating to make sure.

An upper-level police official informed the media that the email claimed that explosive materials had been set up on school grounds. After receiving a call from the command center, we sent our teams running to various schools throughout the city. A comprehensive search is underway while all employees and students have safely left the school’s grounds. It appears to be a hoax message at first glance, but nothing suspicious has been discovered thus far. Our teams are on the ground, so parents shouldn’t panic.

Speaking on the matter, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara stated, “At this point, we have details about 15 educational institutions where alarming emails have been received; comparable threats came in last year as well.” We are going through the schools and carrying out every safety measure required because we don’t want to take any chances. Threatening callers will face severe consequences from us. Every angle is being investigated.

I have instructed the police to look into this, and they will. Parents don’t need to worry because security precautions have been taken. The police have my orders to check the schools and tighten security. According to the media, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has received a preliminary report from the police department.

Following the receipt of a threatening email from a Bengaluru school, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar also paid the institution a visit. “As I was watching TV, a threat email was received by the school across from my residence. I came to make sure; so far, it appears to be a call seeking danger. Still, we must exercise extreme caution in this regard,” he stated.

A bomb threat was made to the city’s National Public School in January of this year, and several other schools in the tech hub also experienced similar bogus calls and messages the previous year.

Parents hurried to school in a state of panic as soon as they learned about the incident, determined to get their kids safely home. Prior to that, multiple anti-sabotage teams were dispatched to search the school grounds, according to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner. He said, “Every attempt will be made to identify the sender of the email,” adding that although the bomb threat messages sent to multiple city schools appear to be phony calls, “After receiving bomb threats through emails to certain schools in Bangalore, Sadashiva Nagar NEV School has been visited and inspected,” he later tweeted an update on X.
