Rewa (MP): President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and two others allegedly assaulted a retired man at his shop in Rewa city of Madhya Pradesh on Monday night, sources said on Tuesday. After the incident came to light a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the trio.

CCTV footage shows two persons slapping and kicking Dinesh Mishra and ransacking his shop. Immediately after the incident, Mishra lodged a complaint, saying that the policemen at the spot, instead of intervening in the matter, accompanied the main accused to his home. The police identified the accused as Rituraj Chaturvedi, president of the BJYM’s city unit and his aides as Anurag Mishra and Aman Chaturvedi, but nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident. Mishra said that Chaturvedi and two others entered his shop and began to beat him up and ransack his shop. According to him, the police registered a case against the accused after a video clip of the incident went viral on social media. BJP’s Rewa district president Ajay Singh said that the party would take action against Chaturvedi.
