A sad news surfaced in the morning when we learned about the helicopter crash which had 6 Â pilgrims crashed ahead of the takeoff from the Kedarnath shrine.
The unfortunate incident took place near Garud Chatti in Rudraprayag at around 11.40 according to sources. Seven people including the pilot lost lives who were aboard the plane.
Kedarnath Dham is an iconic temple that pilgrims visit throughout the year with faith and this is very sad news about the casualties of the devotees.
The concerned authorities and district administration teams had made it to the spot on time for relief and rescue work. The authorities have been asked to work on a detailed inquiry to find out more about the mishap.
The helicopter was reportedly flying from Kedarnath to reach the Phata helipad. PM Modi also shared his grief on the unfortunate incident through a tweet and extended support to the families.
As of noe there is not enough clarity but the weather condition is being blamed for the accident. The helicopter belonged to a private firm called Ayan Aviation Pvt. Ltd – that provides helicopter services in the area.
A press briefing was held to address media and audiences that shared that the investigation will further give clarity on what exactly happened there, as of now it looks like a case of bad weather conditions. The Pilots are responsible to check the safety aspects while flying when and boarding passengers to ensure they are safe. The chopper services in the Kedarnath Dham are stopped until further notice.
