Ritu Maheshwari, the CEO of the Noida Authority, has formed a two-person committee to examine the Supertech twin tower issue. According to the senior IAS officer, the department would take action against personnel found guilty in the Supertech case.
The decision was made after the Supreme Court ordered the twin structures to be demolished on Tuesday. In Supertech’s Emerald Court housing project in Noida Sector 93, the towers were reportedly built-in contravention of building bye-laws.

After the supreme court’s ruling, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has requested an investigation into the Supertech unlawful 40-story twin skyscraper issue. He also demanded that police who violated the law be punished severely. On April 11, 2014, the Allahabad High Court ordered the destruction of two 40-story twin buildings, Tower Apex and Tower Ceyane.
The Supreme Court’s two-judge panel, led by Justice D Y Chandrachud and included Justice M R Shah, upheld the Allahabad High Court’s decision, ruling that the building was unlawful and the consequence of conspiracy between the Noida authorities and the real estate business, Supertech.

The Supreme Court has also ordered Supertech to repay money to apartment owners at a 12% interest rate. The builder has been given a two-month deadline to compensate the apartment owners by the Supreme Court. “All of the money deposited by the assigned unit owners is to be reimbursed by the petitioner Supertech within two months,” the supreme court stated in its ruling.
