New Delhi/Varanasi: The sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided two locations in Varanasi and Delhi on Wednesday and took into custody an operative of the “Voice of Hind” that works on the pattern of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), official sources said on Thursday.
According to reports, the banned organisation ISIS engages youths in India to wage a war against the state through acts of terrorism. The NIA registered a case against the man under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UPAPA). Sources in the NIA said that the person concerned was actively involved in recruiting youths on behalf of ISIS.
He was also involved in creating contents for the organisation and spreading them among the youths through a magazine “Voice of Khurasan.” Besides, the youth was training the youths in making explosives for carrying out terrorist attacks in the country, sources further said. The NIA sleuths also laid their hands on articles related to making explosives and IEDs, besides mobile phones, laptops and pen drives. The agency had already filed charge sheets in the NIA special court in Delhi against six persons.
