Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of being ignorant about the freedom struggle and the JP Movement. He made the statement against Shah’s remark, “CM sitting in Congress lap for power.”
Kumar who returned from Nagaland on Tuesday night said that he barely bothered about the outbursts of Modi or Shah. Wanting to know whether they had made any contribution to the JP Movement, Kumar said those who had nothing to do with the freedom struggle talked about the JP Movement.
Pointing to Gujarat riots, Kumar said few had known Modi before 2002, and it was because of the Gujarat riots that Modi made headlines. He further said that he had been imprisoned during the JP Movement for which Jayaprakash Narayan had lauded him.
Shah made the statement at Sitab Diara on the occasion of 120th anniversary of socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan that Bihar Chief Minister is sitting in Congress’s lap. Kumar also tore into Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi saying that the latter made unnecessary statements only to get some post in the party.
