Mainpuri: The special judge of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) court in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh sentenced a 25-year-old man to ten years’ imprisonment for violating a minor girl six years ago, sources said on Friday.

According to government counsel Mukund Raizada, the court headed by Poonam Tyagi also imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on the convict Pravin Yadav and asked him to pay the amount to the survivor. He said that Yadav had raped the minor at the house of his friend on September 6, 2016. The culprit threatened the girl with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone. On the grounds of the complaint lodged by her family members, the criminal was arrested and sent to jail.
