New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that the Delhi government will donate Rs 15 crore to the flood-hit Telangana for its relief and rehabilitation efforts.
In a tweet, Mr Kejriwal said, ”Floods have caused havoc in Hyderabad. People of Delhi stand by our brother and sisters in Hyderabad in this hour of crisis.”
”Delhi govt will donate Rs 15 cr to the Govt of Telangana for its relief efforts,” Mr Kejriwal said further.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao thanked Mr Kejriwal on behalf of people in the state for announcing Rs 15 crore financial assistance. Mr Rao spoke to Mr Kejriwal over phone and thanked him for the generous help.
Telangana was hit by heavy rains on October 13 which claimed 70 lives of which 33 were from Hyderabad alone. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Sunday had said that about 37,409 families were affected due to floods.
