Tehri / Dehradun: Inaugurating the Tehri Lake Festival, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that an international Vedic school would be established on Bhagirathi banks in Tehri. Students will be given knowledge of the Sanskrit language and Hindi, and English; with this, people from all over the world will understand Indian culture. Scuba diving training will be arranged for 500 trainees here. Light and sound shows will be launched. On this occasion, the display of Devdolis was the main center of attraction.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated the people on the Basant Panchami festival and said that Uttarakhand has a future in Tehri. Earlier, no date was fixed on which day to celebrate Tehri Lake Festival. Still, we have issued a gazette notification that Tehri Lake Festival will be held every year from now on to Basant Panchami.
The Chief Minister said that the residents of Pratap Nagar had faced a lot of problems. Today, the government has given him the Motrabar Dobra Chandhi bridge, which has overcome his problem. Along with this, tourists and residents of North Kashi have also got facilities. Saturation in business and tourism has come to Mussoorie. Tourists stay in Tehri for a few days and enjoy it, with the imagination that we are developing the Tehri region. For this, work is underway to create the new Tehri with Rs. 1210 crore.
The Chief Minister said that to promote adventure sports in the State, an Adventure Wing has been established, being seen in the state. Today, adventure activities are being conducted successfully in Bhimtal, Almora, Satpuli, and Tehri. We are developing Tehri so that people do not flee, and they get employment here. We believe that if any state is the hub of tourism, then it will be Uttarakhand.
Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that today many local people are getting employment due to Tehri Lake Festival. The possibilities are similar to water sports in Tehri; the options are nowhere in India. Tehri lake will be established as an international destination in due course.
On this occasion, Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Dhan Singh Negi, District Panchayat President Sona Sajwan, Tourism Secretary Mr. Dilip Javalkar, Additional Secretary Adventure Wing Colonel Ashwin Pundir, District Magistrate Mrs. Eva Ashish Shrivastava, Tourism Additional Director Poonam Chand, and other public representatives, officials People and tourists associated with tourism were present in large numbers.
Various adventure sports are being organized at Tehri Lake Festival. These include paragliding, paramotor, parasailing boat, scuba diving, hot air balloon, kayaking, canoeing, high course, rock climbing, gummering rappelling, and all-terrain bikes.
Keeping in mind the resolve of self-reliant Uttarakhand, stalls of products, crafts, handicrafts items, hills outlet of integrated livelihood cooperation project, forest department products, wooden items, organic products were also set up in the festival. . Also, stalls were made for people to eat and drink.
A glimpse of the rich folk culture of Uttarakhand was also seen on this occasion. Religious traditions were also seen through the Devdolis. A two-day photography competition is being organized by the Department of Tourism and District Administration under the Tehri Lake Festival. Along with this, photo exhibitions and award ceremonies were also organized at the festival.
