Bengaluru: An apartment complex in Bengaluru city of Karnataka has been declared a containment zone after 103 positive cases of Corona were reported there. According to district officials, this number of Corona cases has been recorded just days after two marriage anniversary parties were held at the Residential Society. These new cases of Corona have come to light in the SNN Raj Lakeview apartment in Bilekhali area of South Bengaluru. The district administration conducted a massive corona testing campaign last week in this apartment after about two dozen corona cases surfaced in a few days.
A senior official said, ‘We saw a big jump in corona cases – there were seven case reports on 11 February, 17 cases were filed on 12 February. On February 13, the team of BBMP (Brihat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike) arrived at the apartment for testing. During this, 399 houses were surveyed. 1190 people were tested, out of which 103 cases were positive. One person has been admitted to the hospital. This officer said, We had received information that two parties of marriage anniversary were held here on February 6 and 7. Medical Officer Dr. Krishnappa told that most of those who have been found positive, are under 50 and are asymptomatic (no symptoms of corona).
BBMP Joint Commissioner B.C. Ramakrishna said that the apartment has been fully sanitized and every resident has been asked to remain in isolation till further notice. Significantly, in the case of active cases of Corona, Karnataka is third after Kerala and Maharashtra. At this time, the number of active cases of Corona is 5791. So far more than 12 thousand people have lost their lives due to corona infection in the state.
