New Delhi: The Indian Council of Medical Research has decided to conduct a survey on community spread of corona virus. The survey will be carried out in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, National Center for Disease Control, WHO and the State Department of Health and aims to find out about community transmission of corona virus. This survey will be done in 69 districts of 21 states of the country, under which 400 random samples will be taken from all the districts. Of these samples, 24000 samples will be adults. This survey will be carried out through ELISA test, under which blood sample will be taken and antibodies will be detected in the body.
The ICMR has decided to conduct a study to identify people in the Corona-affected districts of the country who have been infected with the corona virus, yet they show little or no symptoms at all. The study will help to find out whether there was community transmission of this respiratory disease in those areas. ICMR scientists want to do this study as soon as possible. Sources said that in the districts where the population is more and where there is more interstate movement, people will be selected for the study so that the concerned state is represented.
