Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old woman traveling from Maharashtra to Uttar Pradesh in a truck gave birth to a child on the roadside near the Balasamund block on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway passing through Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh. A local official said that Deepa, a woman traveling by truck, stopped a truck on the night of May 10 and 11 near Balasamund Barrier and gave birth to a child on the roadside.

The labor family was traveling from Maharashtra to Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh due to the lockdown. Dr. Faizal Ali, a doctor of Ozar village said that he reached the spot on receiving the information, even though the delivery had already taken place before he arrived. He told that after this the woman was brought to the primary health center of Ozhar in an ambulance. Dr. Ali said that the child is healthy and weighs about 3.4 kg.

The woman’s husband, Goodwar Lal, said that he had become unemployed since the last week of March after the lockdown, so he decided to leave Mumbai along with the family. He told that when his wife was in unbearable pain during the journey, he asked the truck driver to stop the truck and made the wife deliver on the roadside.
