NewDelhi: The scorching heat and heat wave continues in the north and western states of India including Delhi. The situation has become worse in the scorching summer due to frequent power cuts amid coal crisis. In the capital Delhi, the record of 72 years of severe heat and heat-wave conditions has been broken. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), April has been recorded as the second warmest month in Delhi in 72 years. The same is the case with the northwestern states including UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

It is time to start the month of May, but before that many states of the country are facing the havoc of scorching heat and heat wave. In the capital Delhi, the heat of the month of April has broken the 72-year-old record. According to the Meteorological Department, this is the second time after 1950 when Delhi has experienced so much heat in the month of April. Earlier in April 2010 it was so hot. The average maximum temperature of Delhi in the month of April was 40.2 degree Celsius.

 

When is the relief expected?

Meteorological officials say that due to the scorching heat, a yellow alert of heat has been issued in the northwestern states including Delhi. Earlier on Thursday, the Meteorological Department had issued an orange alert. However, it is a matter of relief that there is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 5 days. On the other hand, dust storm is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, UP and Rajasthan. Light rain may also occur, due to which the temperature may drop slightly. Similar weather may occur during May 3 to 4.

Significantly, the havoc of unprecedented heat continues in the north and western parts of the country. On the other hand, the power cut after the coal crisis has increased the problems of the people. Especially in Delhi, in the midst of scorching heat, electricity can increase the crisis and trouble. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said today that Delhi has only one day’s coal left. Meanwhile, the Centre has canceled more than 650 trains to offset the coal and power crisis with frequent and additional rail rakes.
