Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court turned down the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) plea to hand over the TRS MLA poaching case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to deal with the case. The court also said that a single judge will monitor the case.

Three alleged agents of the BJP tried to lure four legislators of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti which is ruling the state. Those who have been arrested in connection with the case are Ramchandra Bharati aka Satish Sharma, simhayaji and Nandakumar. The cyber police arrested the accused from a farmhouse in Moinabad near Hyderabad on the night of October 26. They had allegedly offered money to TRS legislators.

A division bench headed by Chief Justice Ujwal Bhuyan asked the SIT headed by Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand not to brief state and its bosses about the progress in the case. The SIT is supposed to report to the court only and not to leak information to media. The court disposed of the BJP’s petition seeking probe by the central agency and asked the SIT to submit a report on November 29.
