Gwalior (MP): Thirty workers were evacuated from a shoe factory on Saturday when a fire broke out on the premises of the workshop at Tansen Nagar in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, the police and fire brigade officials said.

According to additional district magistrate Ichchhit Gadpale, teams from municipal corporation’s fire brigade department and from the state disaster emergency response force (SDREF) rushed to the spot and evacuated 30 workers who were trapped inside the factory that makes plastic shoes.

There was no casualty in the incident, Gadpale said, adding that the officials were in the process of dousing the flames. The district administration ordered a probe into the incident to ascertain the cause of the of fire. The loss the factory owner has suffered has yet to be learnt.
