An incident was reported in which the Delhi court exonerated four individuals who were involved in the riots that happened in the Jhoripur locality on February 2020.
According to the information received the session judge Pramchala claimed that the charges are not beyond doubt. The accused were identified as Dinesh Yadav, Sandeep, Tinku, and Babu. They were the prime suspect in the northeast Delhi riots.
There were several charges such as rioting, a threat to human life, destruction of government property, and creation of unlawful groups. As per the information many witnesses in the case were against the prosecution’s case. The identification of the rioters in the case still remains a great concern.
According to the information received the witness in the case couldn’t identify the rioters as their faces were fully covered with masks. Further, the judge claimed that the accused are being detained for the benefit of the doubt. Following this, it was found that the two prosecutions were not specific about the investigation.
The rioters were alleged of beating four Muslim men after knowing their identity in Jhoripur Puliya. An FIR was lodged against the persons indicted for the riots under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
