Bhopal: Ragging has become a major issue on the Government Medical College campus in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district. The anti-ragging committee of the medical college lodged a first information report (FIR) against seven students for their role in ragging. All of them have been rusticated from the college for a year, an official said on Sunday. The committee took action against the students after a video clip of an incident of ragging in which some students were seen slapping their juniors went viral on social media. The incident took place on July 28.

Dr Anurag Jain, warden of the boys’ hostel of the medical college, filed a complaint against a few students who were involved in ragging. Immediately after the members of the anti-ragging committee received the complaint, they registered an FIR against seven students on Saturday night. According to the dean of the college Dr Jitendra Gupta, all the seven students have been rusticated.
