Tips to overcome Unfavorable Hereditary Background

LifestyleTips to overcome Unfavorable Hereditary Background

Date:

One of the major reasons for living in generational poverty and not having a good standard of living is an unfavorable hereditary background. People don’t realize that they remain poor or needy throughout their life and even pass on the wrong traits to their children to remain the same and think in a similar way, thus attracting more misery and misfortune in their lives. In order to come out of this generational curse and traumatic past, one has to take steps toward unlearning the wrong forms of intelligence taught at home by parents, relatives, or friends during childhood.

1) Accept that you are not naturally intelligent:

Intelligence need not be by birth but can also be acquired. Probably you were never exposed to certain situations in your life that will help you improve your brainpower and also make you more intelligent. The place where you came from or your family belonged didn’t allow you to improve your knowledge and become smarter. But that doesn’t make you less than others. Accepting your situations as they are will help you to close your past life and make efforts towards your upliftment and well-being.

2) Be open to change and learning new skills:

Probably your parents or relatives didn’t get that exposure to improve their intelligence because they came from times when things were not that great. In a developing country like ours, we didn’t enjoy the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter for one and all till the technology boom came. So, it is okay if your parents don’t have that level of education or understanding towards your career or education or profession or even hobbies. You can be that change-maker in your family, dream big and make things happen by changing your mindset, and also be willing to learn new skills.

3) It is okay to fail in the initial stage:

When you have doubts about your field or studies, you may not get instant clarity when you are at home. You will have to take the extra effort of enrolling yourself for private tuition or taking a person’s help in your school or college. That’s fine, let’s not keep higher expectations in the initial stage itself. Because you are the first generation to be educated and making a job out of your knowledge in your family. So, it is okay to err or make unintentional mistakes and even fail during the journey. But whenever you fail, make sure to get up and keep going ahead no matter what.

4) Respect your family background as it is:

Knowing something better than your family or having better skills than them doesn’t make them lesser than you. You have no right to show your frustration of coming from a poor background on them. In fact, you should be the cheerleader in your family and keep telling them how their lives are going to change in the long run through your efforts. So, learn to respect their views as they are but you don’t have to follow them blindly. You can have your own thinking power to decide what is right and wrong.
