Well, Lord Rama teaches the valuable lessons of obedience, commitment, and courage to walk the path that has been already fixed. In today’s age, when children go against their parents’ wishes for every small to big thing saying that they are outdated and orthodox, Lord Rama sacrificed everything just to fulfill his father’s promise that he had given to his third wife Kaikeyi. Just imagine it would be such a heartbreaking incident for Lord Rama when he was told that his step-mother doesn’t want him to live in the kingdom and prefer his own son to become the king.

Despite the hardships that he will have to face living in a forest for 14 years, he didn’t let his father down but instead accepted his promise as a way of his new life. Lord Rama indeed showed the quality of a leader who doesn’t think of himself first but about saving his family’s reputation and about respecting the family ties and protecting that ONE promise of his parents.
Lord Rama walked on the path of righteousness and gave a perfect example to other sons and children of how obeying parents is considered to be the utmost important virtue. He got a good team in the form of Lakshmana and his wife Sita who willingly agreed to accompany him on his new journey. He always ensured that he took good care of both his brother and wife while he led a simple and humble life in the forest. He showed teamwork spirit when he met Lord Hanuman and his team to save Sita from the abduction of Ravana.
Lord Rama never had the pride of being a Vishnu avatar and tried as much as possible to be human even though he had all the powers of a God. His human life was to set an example to others of how to live life as a good son, good brother, good husband, good friend, and even good father during his journey of leading his kingdom as a King. He never allowed others to influence his decision-making abilities although being criticized for living separately from Sita who sacrificed her whole life for his betterment.
Lord Rama lived alone and never remarried or had bad intentions for other women. After all, he was Maryada Purushottam. He loved his wife dearly but he sacrificed his marital life happiness just so that his leadership to run the kingdom is not questioned ever again. He loved his people too dearly and he chose his profession over his personal gains. Lord Rama was born as a common man but his tolerance to bear all the challenges that he had to go through made him the LORD and a divine being.
