Women feel different situations on their periods day. Some people have no symptoms at all, while others struggle to get out of bed because of cramping, headaches, discomfort, and nausea. Cravings are at an all-time high during menstruation days, therefore that bottle of cool drink in the fridge or that packet of chips in the kitchen must be postponed.

During your period, eating the incorrect foods can cause more harm than you realise. These inappropriate foods can bring you unnecessary issues during your period, ranging from nausea to vomiting, therefore it’s best to avoid them.

Spicy food

If you like fried foods and ready-made snacks, you could be tempted to eat something spicy. You should avoid hot and salty foods since too much salt causes water retention, which can lead to bloating.

Grain that has been refined

Refined foods have no nutritions. They interfere with blood sugar control and regular appetite control as a result of this. So, instead of eating spaghetti, bread, or noodles, switch to whole grains.

Snacks and candy

To fulfil your sweet tooth, eat juicy fruit instead of sweet dishes. They produce bloating and gas, as well as a spike in blood sugar in the short term. When you’re having a bad day, high-sugar foods can make things worse.

Alcohol

It is advised to stop drinking alcohol when you are on your tough days. What is the significance of this? Blood loss at this period reduces blood pressure, making you more susceptible to the effects of alcohol. It also increases menstruation flow and aggravates fatigue.

Coffee

In the morning, we all like a hot cup of coffee or tea. Some of us can’t even imagine waking up without a cup of coffee. However, you should attempt to avoid doing so throughout your period. Refrain from drinking that cup of coffee and instead focus on staying hydrated.

Red meat 

Red meat is high in prostaglandins. During menstruation, your body produces prostaglandins, which help your uterus contract and produce menstrual flow. Cramping, on the other hand, is caused by high levels of prostaglandin. As a result, red meat should be avoided because it is high in prostaglandins.
