Tips to tackle mood swings during menstrual periods

Menstrual cycles or periods are what is every woman gets on a monthly basis from the time of her puberty till she reaches the stage of menopause. Women who are quite emotionally vulnerable get anxious thoughts and mood swings during their periods. Some women who are quite mentally strong also find it difficult to manage their physical or mental health during some periodic cycles due to changes in their body, environment, and various other factors.

A mindful indulgence can uplift your mood and satiate cravings!

It is quite natural to yell or cry when you are getting a headache, stomachache, irritability, and various other issues during your menses. However, if your situation is something that you is not manageable and you have to attend an important meeting or lecture during your periods, then here are some tips to manage your mood issues:

1) Get a good bath in the morning with lukewarm water as it will freshen you up. While you are bathing, listen to soft music and lovely songs from Bollywood or any movie or series that you like. It will help you distract from the pain that you are going through and make you feel better.

2) You might be aware or at least have a small idea of what triggers you to cause mood swings. Is it someone’s presence that irks you during your periods or is it an activity that you hate happens by someone you know or do you want something more than the usual day like more sleep or more tasty food but are unable to get that? Know what irritates you the most and try to pacify yourself by getting the same, if not wholly but at least partially.

3) If you have a meeting with your colleague or a boss, you can simply tell him before the meeting that you are keeping unwell and may not be in the right frame of mind to give your best in the meeting. If the meeting can get postponed then well and good. If not, then at least your colleague or boss can take responsibility on your behalf if you have to answer anything important.
