News Desk – A young boy, just 14 years old, from Malappuram in Kerala, has died from a dangerous virus called Nipah. It usually spreads from fruit bats to humans, has appeared in Kerala. It has happened four times in the past five years.

After the boy’s death, health workers are quickly trying to find anyone who might have been near him in the last 12 days to stop the virus from spreading more.

The government in Delhi is sending a team to Kerala to help find out how the boy got the virus. The boy was very sick and had been moved to a hospital in Kozhikode.

Health officials are now making sure that anyone who might have been in contact with the boy stays away from others to prevent the virus from spreading.

Handling Nipah virus is serious, and involves steps like keeping track of all the people who were close to the infected person, checking for any signs of the virus, and keeping people apart as needed to stop the virus from spreading further.
