New Delhi: Four militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A police officer said that security forces launched a siege and search operation in Melohora area of Shopian on Tuesday night.
The officer said that the hidden militants opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated and started firing. Four militants have been killed in the operation so far. The encounter continued until the news was written. The identity of the slain militants is being ascertained.
Despite the spread of coronavirus infection, hide and seek between the security forces and the terrorists continues. There were reports of an encounter between the two in the past too. On the other hand, the border of India and Pakistan is also under fire from time to time.
