New Delhi: Rakesh Tikait has given a statement on the tweets of international artists including Rihanna, Greta Thanberg, on the support of the farmers movement. He said, “There is nothing wrong with Hollywood actors supporting the farmers’ movement, I don’t know them personally, but they are supporting them without any expectations.” If the United Kisan Morcha has thanked them, the farmers union will do the same. ”
It may be noted that many international artists and celebrities had tweeted in support of the farmers’ organizations agitating on the agricultural laws. Which includes many names including American pop star Rihanna, Sweden environmental activist Greta Thunberg, Mia Khalifa, Mina Harris. These celebrities have criticized the government of India for shutting down internet facility from the movement area.
Talking to reporters, Rakesh Tikait said, “On February 6, there will be a three-hour ‘Chakka Jam’. It will not be in Delhi but everywhere outside Delhi. Food and water will be provided to those trapped in it. We will tell them what the government is doing to us. “
On the support given by the international celebrities, the United Farmers Organization has described it as a privilege. Farmer leader Darshan Pal said, “United Kisan Morcha accepts the support of international personalities for the ongoing peasant movement in India. On one hand, it is a matter of pride that eminent persons are showing sensitivity towards the farmers. ”
