Rajasthan: No relief to Pilot group, hearing on disqualification notice postponed

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court on Thursday deferred hearing on a petition challenging the disqualification notice on the MLAs of the Sachin Pilot Group. The Pilot camp has sought time to amend its petition filed to challenge the move to disqualify dissident MLAs from the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The legislators’ counsel said that the petitioners would challenge the anti-defection law contained in the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution.

The Rajasthan High Court has given time to the Sachin Pilot camp to file a fresh petition. With this, the High Court said that the matter will now be heard by the bench.

Appealing on behalf of the Pilot camp, advocate Harish Salve stated that the dissident MLAs want to challenge the constitutional validity of the disqualification notice issued by the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The petitioners will challenge the anti-defection law contained in the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution.

Explain that the notice issued by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly to disqualify the rebel MLAs for membership of the Assembly was challenged by the colleagues of Sachin Pilot in the Rajasthan High Court.
