PM Modi inaugurates Gandhinagar station & projects worth Rs 1,100 crore in Gujarat via video-conferencing.

PM Modi inaugurates Indian Railway’s world-class Gandhinagar Capital railway station in Gujarat. It is well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities; the newly redeveloped Gandhinagar railway station is one of a kind and unique which offers an airport-like experience to passengers. The station is upgraded at a cost of Rs 71 crore. The Gandhinagar Capital railway station offers world-class amenities, similar to modern Indian airports.

According to the Indian railways, the state-of-the-art external facades of Gandhinagar Capital Railway station also have a daily changing theme-based lighting with 32 different themes. Besides, this railway station also hosts a five-star hotel.

Among other projects, PM Modi will inaugurate a revamped and modernized Vadnagar railway station where Modi once used to sell tea during his childhood. Vadnagar is also PM Modi’s hometown. Pm has also inaugurated a nature park, aquatic center, a robotic gallery in Ahmedabad Science City 

Facilities at Gandhinagar Capital railway station

With world-class amenities and an international look, for the first time, an Indian Railways network station roof has been covered with seamless aluminum including platforms and rail tracks. This station is also a Divyang friendly railway station especially developed features are low height ticketing booking windows, lifts, ramps, dedicated parking areas,s, etc. The Gandhinagar Capital railway station’s building is green and aesthetically designed and it has obtained five-star certification from GEM. The station has different entry and exit gates.

About three platforms are well connected through two subways. The station also has a dedicated art gallery and lounge.

Apart from inaugurating the world-class station, PM Modi has also flagged off two new train services of Gandhinagar Capital-Varanasi Superfast Express train and a MEMU service running between Gandhinagar Capital and Varetha stations.

The project was jointly developed in partnership with the Gujarat state govt and the Indian Railways through the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC).
