PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 1,500 crore in the city of “Baba Vishwanath” in Varanasi (Kashi) today ranging from education, road, water transport, health, and tourism along with the much-awaited Rudraksha convention center.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and UP Governor Anandi Ben Patel welcomed him in Kashi today. Yogi expressed ‘heartfelt gratitude’ to the PM for the ‘all-around development of Varanasi through his tweet.
PM in his, 5-hour stay in Varanasi PM is set to inaugurate Ro-Ro vessels for tourism development and a three-lane Flyover Bridge on Varanasi-Ghazipur highway on river Ganga to speed up connectivity in Eastern UP (Purvanchal).
PM Modi early in the day also inaugurated the much-awaited international cooperation and convention center, ‘Rudraksh’, built with the assistance of Japan. Its 108 aluminum-made Rudraksha installed outside the main building is one of the major highlights along with its roof which was constructed in the shape of a Shiva Linga, which looks majestic under glowing LED lights at night.
The much-awaited two-story Rudraksha convention center has been built in the posh Sigra area of Varanasi on 2.87 hectares of land with a seating capacity of 1,200 people. The convention center will act as a center to promote social and cultural interactions between people in Varanasi that would help Kashi to strengthen the city’s image and will also help boost the tourism sector in Uttar Pradesh
