Meerut: The dead Kali river is now getting the attention of people for its revival. Bollywood famous actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has initiated an appeal to the common public to come forward to clean the river. He voiced his opinion on how it is a matter of shame for allowing our rivers to dry up. The value of water is really important. However, seeing the rivers getting dried, Nawazuddin expressed his concern and shared how the rivers have become dead and dried up completely. He asked how and what we are planning to give to our future generations? He insisted people think about how there were larger rivers earlier and now they are just getting dried up.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that the importance of water is worth more than diamonds. We are ungrateful towards the water because it is readily available, but in the future when clean water gets lost for use to the people that is when people will understand its real value. The actor recently took part in a program related to the Kali river where he shared his thoughts and appreciated the efforts done by the administration for keeping the river clean.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui also said that he has a profound connection with rivers. As a child, he used to go to rivers, swim. He also said how while growing up, when he went to Bollywood, he was asked if he knew the skill of swimming and if yes, then he will be cast in a role. When he was asked, where did he learn to swim, he shared about the rivers of his place and then got a job in the film industry. He said that this incident has made him feel more about causes related to rivers and he would be interested to come anytime to support the same.

He encouraged the general public to co-operate for cleanliness and upliftment of rivers and stressed the fact that with joint efforts, people will be able to keep the rivers clean which will make the Ganges clean and that will be developing the villages well. In the time of coronavirus, just like how now people have understood the importance of air, similarly, efforts should be taken to make people realize the value of water as well.
