MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Assembly Speaker has suspended 12 BJP MLAs for one year for creating ruckus in the House during the Assembly session. Among the MLAs to be suspended are Ashish Shelar, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Girish Mahajan, Abhimanyu Pawar and Sanjay Kunte.
Let us tell you that the monsoon session of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly started today in which there was a lot of uproar on the issue of OBC (Other Backward Classes) reservation.
Bhaskar Jadhav, who is holding the post of caretaker speaker in the Assembly, said that when the House was adjourned, the Leader of the Opposition came to my cabin and started abusing me in front of Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and senior BJP leader Chandrakat Patil. At the same time, the opposition leaders allege that the caretaker speaker also behaved indecently with them. The speaker has demanded a probe by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister into the matter.

BJP leader Ashish Shelar has reacted sharply to the suspension of 12 MLAs. He said that this government has even embarrassed the Taliban. In the speaker’s chamber there was abuse by Shiv Sena MLAs. Still, taking care of the dignity of the speaker, we apologized. He said that the people of Shiv Sena do not have the courage to face me. I was just trying to correct what Chhagan Bhujbal said about PM Modi.
