Lockdown is like a pause button not a complete solution to the virus: Rahul

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference through video conferencing on Thursday that it is not possible to defeat Corona only through lockdown. Responding to a question, Rahul said, lockdown is like a pause button but it is not a complete solution to the virus. Rahul said that the virus would attack again as soon as the lockdown was over.

Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue of testing during this time. Rahul said that the fight against Corona is at the state and district levels. The Congress leader said that the PM should take care of the funds of the states. Rahul Gandhi also said that he does not want to get into accusations and wants the country to unite and fight this epidemic at this time.

Talking about more testing, Rahul said- ‘Testing should be used to identify Covid-19 hotspots and then work there.’

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The biggest weapon against Covid-19 is testing so that you can isolate the place where the virus is and fight it. Our testing rate is 199 out of a million, which we have just done in the last 72 days. This is approximately 350 tests in each district.

On the package issued by the central government, Rahul said that the money is not reaching the states fast now. Also, Rahul said that the migration of migrant laborers to other states is a big issue amid the lockdown.

Rahul Gandhi while advising the central government said- ‘We are now in a situation where there is a situation like emergency. India has to fight against it simultaneously. My only advice is that no step should be taken without thinking and strategy should be made. The lockdown has not solved the problem but only postponed it for a while. ‘
