Fugitive Mehul Choksi gets interim bail

New Delhi: Dominica court has granted interim bail to fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi to go to Antigua and Barbuda on medical grounds. This bail is strictly given for treatment in Antigua. Choksi has got interim bail till he is certified fit to travel, after which he will have to return to Dominica.

Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi, arrested and jailed for illegal entry into Dominica on May 23, was granted bail on medical grounds by a Dominica court on Monday. Choksi had gone missing from Antigua and Barbuda, where he had been living since 2018 after absconding from India. The 62-year-old diamond merchant is wanted in India in the Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank fraud case.
