On National Sports Day, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated the Fit India Mobile Application at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi to commemorate the Fit India Movement’s second anniversary of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Nisith Pramanik, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports were also present at the occasion.
Anurag Thakur paid floral respects to Major Dhyan Chand, the wizard of hockey, at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium before the Fit India App Launch ceremony. Nisith Pramanik also expressed his gratitude. After the launch, the Ministers engaged electronically with Indian Hockey team captain Manpreet Singh, wrestler Sangram Singh, writer Ayaz Memon, pilot Captain Anny Divya, a school kid, and a housewife who explained how to use the Fit India app.
The Fit India App is free and accessible in both English and Hindi on Android and iOS platforms, and it was designed to operate on even the most essential devices. “The Fit India Mobile App brings the convenience of assessing one’s fitness levels straight into the palm of every Indian,” the Minister stated, congratulating everyone on the Fit India Movement’s second anniversary as well as National Sports Day. It includes elements such as a ‘fitness score,’ animated movies, activity monitors, and ‘my plan,’ which tailor to individual needs.”

The New India we foresee for our citizens is a healthy, fit India. Anurag Thakur continued, “If we want our youth to contribute significantly to national development, we must assure their fitness.” He asked everyone to use social media to spread the word about the app.
The participation of fellow citizens in making the Fit India Movement a Jan Andolan, according to Nisith Pramanik, is remarkable. According to him, the Fit India App would assist in making New India a Fit India and fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambition. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, according to Pramanik, is a beautiful role model for Fit India and encourages everyone.
During a virtual engagement, Manpreet Singh, the captain of the Indian hockey team, praised the app’s user-friendly features and its ability to track health metrics. Captain Anny Divya, a pilot, stressed the significance of using the app to track her water intake and sleep throughout her hectic work schedule. She also did modified pushups to improve her upper body strength. The workout is available as an app, and anybody may track their progress.
To keep the body stable and balanced, Sh. Anurag Thakur and Sh. Nitish Pramanik conducted Vraksha Aasan with the wrestler Sangram Singh. Journalist Ayaz Memon emphasised the significance of exercise for senior citizens and demonstrated how to keep healthy with the chair stretch test. Shruti Tomar, a class VIII student, spoke about the importance of physical fitness in addition to academics, while Shyamlee Sharma, a housewife, illustrated how the app helped her stay active throughout her demanding daily home tasks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Fit India Movement on August 29, 2019, to make India a fit and healthy nation. The main message is that fitness is simple, enjoyable, and free and can be done anywhere. One year later, on the first anniversary of the Fit India movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled ‘Age-appropriate fitness protocols for three age groups: (1) 5-18 years, (2) 18-65 years, and (3) 65+ years,’ which had been developed by an expert committee and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO). The Prime Minister has also issued a rallying cry for the country’s people, namely, Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.
