New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of the party’s Parliamentary Strategy Group on Wednesday evening to chalk out the strategy for the monsoon session of Parliament. In the virtual meeting chaired by Sonia Gandhi, while on the one hand the strategies to surround the Modi government in the Parliament session will be discussed, according to sources, important changes in the Lok Sabha party can also be considered.
Speculations are being made to replace Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha. Adhir was made the state president before the West Bengal assembly elections. Apart from this, Congress Chief Whip in Lok Sabha K Suresh has also been made the working president of Kerala Congress. In such a situation, new faces can be seen in both the posts of Congress leader and chief whip in the Lok Sabha.
According to sources, a decision on this can be taken in the meeting to be held on Wednesday. Speculations are being made about the names of Manish Tewari and Shashi Tharoor as leaders in the Lok Sabha. However, both the leaders being part of the dissident group ‘G23’ may go against them. Apart from these two, Gaurav Gogoi and Ravneet Bittu are also said to be contenders. However, recently party general secretary Randeep Surjewala has ruled out the possibility of such a change.
