Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took oath as member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. After Adityanath, Akhilesh Yadav, who has been named as the Leader of the Opposition, took oath as an MLA.
While Adityanath won the recent state polls from the Gorakhpur Urban seat, Yadav was elected as an MLA from the Karhal assembly constituency. Pro-tem speaker Ramapati Shastri administered oath to members in the House.

Yogi pat on the shoulders of Akhilesh
Akhilesh greeted Yogi Adityanath presinting buque, While CM firstly shook hands then pat on the shoulders of Akhilesh. When Akhilesh was called for having oath, All the senior members including CM, Deputy CMs, Suresh khanna etc stood in honour of him. This is the first time that Akhilesh and Yogi Adityanath are the members of the lower house of Uttar Pradesh.

Speaker to be elected tomorrow
Oath taking ceremony will continue till tomorrow. After the ceremony, Speaker of the house to be elected. According to the notification, any member of the house could take part in it. He should file a nomination by Monday afternoon. BJP is likely to field Satish Mahana for this post. Sources say that SP will not field any candidate of him.
