This step could be a gamechanger
In the last two decades, the politics of UP became such that opposition was itself leaving the path for the ruling party. SP and BSP majorly shared the power between them in that period. Usually, it was a trend that if SP wins Mayawati use to go to the Upper house, if BSP wins Mulayam or Akhilesh choose the path of Delhi. Experts are of the view that this has weakened these parties in the meantime and BJP got the profit of it. This time Akhilesh choose not to flee away to Delhi but to remain in Uttar Pradesh and be in a straight fight with the ruling party.
